On June 23 , Kelly et al’s study on the survival of PNH patients being treated with Soliris (eculizumab) was published in the print edition of Blood. The publication of the study confirms that Soliris “dramatically alters the natural course of PNH, reducing symptoms and disease complications as well as improving survival to a similar level to that of the general population.” The full study also appears online.

On April 1, 2011, an article prepublished online in Blood, the journal of the American Society of Hematology, further proves the efficacy of Soliris (eculizumab) in treating PNH. The prepublication of the study, presented at the 2010 American Society of Hematology meeting in Orlando on December 6, 2010, adds to a strong body of existing evidence that suggest Soliris to be a safe, effective and life-saving medication. The study, by Kelly et al, will appear in an upcoming print and online edition of Blood.
