Advocacy efforts in Ontario are ramped up, and friends and family of PNH patients are armed with petitions to be presented in the Legislature. Advocates are working hard to collect petitions and spread awareness about PNH and the importance of publicly funded access to treatment. Ontario advocates were actively involved with collecting signatures on the Ontario PNH petition, and spreading awareness about PNH and the importance of publicly-funded access to treatment.

So far, petitions have been introduced into the Legislature at least five times, amounting to over 1,234 signatures. MPPs who have been approached with signatures include: Ted McMeekin (Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale), Eric Hoskins (St. Paul’s), and Monique Smith (Nipissing).

Petitions have been tabled in the legislature by Bill Mauro (Thunder Bay-Atikokan), David Caplan (Don Valley East), Khalil Ramal (London-Fanshawe) and Leeanna Pendergast (Kitchener-Conestoga).
